To promote and bring health services closer to citizens, Burera District, in partnership with other Government institutions and various development partners, has constructed three (03) modern cell-level health facilities known as Second Generation Health Posts. These include: Kamanyana Health Post located in Cyanika Sector, Rwasa Health Post located in Gatebe Sector, and Bushenya Health Post located in Bungwe Sector.
In addition, Nyamicucu Health Post located in Butaro Sector has been upgraded, paving the way for it to become a Health Center.
Besides these four (04) health facilities, Burera District already has fifty-four (54) other health posts that provide routine health services, bringing the total number of health posts to fifty-eight (58).
In addition to these cell-level health posts, the district also has 19 Health Centers and Butaro Hospital.
Eye care and dental services are among the services provided at these modern Second Generation Health Posts.
